Jamielyn was born and raised in the City of Majestic Waterfalls in the Philippines, Iligan City. Everyone calls her Jamie or Jam, and she's the youngest of five siblings and an aunt to three nephews and one niece.

She graduated from Silliman University with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Affairs. This may be her first job, but it's not her first time working for an organization, as she was a member of various student and social-civic groups in college.
One of her memorable experiences would be working with a foreign embassy in the Philippines for the Leadership Award for Girls, where she and her team interviewed over 400 applicants for the said award.

Jamie's maternal side is from an indigenous group called Tausug. "Tau" means people, and "sug" means sea current, thus "people of the current". She can speak Tausug, and she is still learning how to speak fluently. She loves to travel and journal, and recently she's hooked on watching musicals.
