Joe Taele

Regional Manager

Originally born in Auckland, New Zealand with a Samoan father, and a Cook Island / Scottish mother, Joe started playing Rugby Union from the age of 5 and is a HUGE All Blacks and Manu Samoa fan. Raised in the church with a large multicultural family, he grew up in a strict but loving environment where old school morals and values play a huge part of his core beliefs.

After school Joe joined the Royal NZ Air Force as an Aircraftsman part of 5 Squadron carrying out maintenance and services on P-3K Orions, maritime patrol aircrafts which carried out search and rescues and patrolling of our national and international commonwealth partners borders. His time in the RNZAF service taught him a lot about who he is and the importance of teamwork and working well with others for a common goal.

After 5 years of service, he decided to go back to university and study film and television as Joe had a passion for film making and started to become involved in music video productions and television commercial productions. This eventually led to an opportunity working with the largest paid tv network in NZ called Sky TV.

Joe started his career in broadcast television during 2008 as a 3rd year university student doing sports highlights packages, then evolved into a permanent position in 2009 as a Presentation Coordinator, once he had graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Television. From here he started a 13-year career with Sky TV starting at the bottom and working his way up through the ranks to eventually in 2012 accept a role in the sports department as a Sports Producer.

This was a dream job which allowed Joe to experience so many amazing sporting events throughout his television career including National and International tournaments in Rugby Union, Rugby Sevens, Rugby League, Netball, Cricket, Basketball, Boxing, Kickboxing and included multiple Commonwealth & Olympics games campaigns.

Family is a huge part of Joe’s life and an opportunity for his wife to further her career in marketing and be closer to her family in Australia brought them all to Queensland, which has become an amazing 2nd home for them and their two young children.

Joe’s aim as a parent is to always try and help their children develop a strong belief in themselves so they are happy, healthy, confident, and making better decisions. His role as parent has helped him realise a genuine passion for helping others by encouraging personal development, growth and achieving goals in all aspects of life. This provides him motivation and passion to ensure that he can continue this kind of work with Conexson and helping our Member’s, Clients, and their Participants with the best possible support and connecting care that we live by.
